Sam Raimi, one of Hollywood’s most beloved directors – after the ‘Spider-Man’ franchise in the 2000s, is known as a horror master. He just dropped the trailer for his new film ‘Send Help’ and will scare us in 2026 with his own dark comedy horror.
Starring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien, the film is about two co-workers who are stranded on an island after a plane crash. Based on a screenplay by writing partners Mark Swift and Damian Shannon, the film stars McAdams as Linda Liddle and O’Brien as her boss Bradley Preston.
The trailer shows Linda being mistreated by her boss Bradley. “As an executive, I don’t see any value in you,” Bradley says, insulting Linda. The story takes a turn when their plane crashes in Bangkok on a flight to a merger for their company.

The dynamic between the two changes in the ‘Send Help’ trailer as they’re stranded on a deserted island. When Bradley gets injured, Linda takes charge and shows off her survival skills and decides not to boss him around anymore. “We’re not in the office, Bradley,” she says.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Raimi said, “I loved how these two main characters are complex, human and constantly fighting each other.” He added, “The plot, tracking the conflict between these two as the power dynamic becomes dramatic, was amazing and original. That’s why I decided to direct this film.”
The 65-year-old director explained how Linda’s survival experience makes her a powerful character. “What I loved about this story is that it’s a story of an internally depressed person overcoming adversity. It’s not just about surviving on a deserted island, it’s also about female empowerment and transformation,” Raimi said.
“It’s so satisfying to see a once powerful boss rely on someone he underestimated. Our story is universal! We need to teach our society to treat everyone, regardless of their status, with respect and kindness,” Raimi said. He added, “I’m so happy to see my heroine Linda rise to the occasion in an unexpected place 2026."
