New set photos have surfaced and Michael Mando, who had a small role in the 2017 film ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ almost 8 years ago is back as the villain Mac Gargan aka Scorpion. These set photos from the upcoming film ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ have got fans hyped.
Out of the 4 set photos shared by the social media account @MyTimeToShineHello, Tom Holland is in 2 and Michael Mando is in the other 2. Tom Holland was recently injured and was seen posing as Spidey in a normal outfit instead of his Spider-Man costume.
More interesting are the photos of Michael Mando. While Mando is seen in a white prison uniform in one photo, in another he is seen in a helicopter. This might be a prison break scene or some high octane action sequence.
Mando was introduced as Mac Gargan in the 2017 film ‘Homecoming’. In the credits of that film, Gargan who is in prison talks to Vulture trying to find out Spider-Man’s secret identity. The scorpion tattoo on his neck hints that he will become this super villain in the future.
Due to Doctor Strange’s spell at the end of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, the world forgot about Peter Parker. This ‘Brand New Day’ storyline will be new, just like in the comics, with Peter fighting crime alone.

It’s clear from these set photos that Scorpion’s role is big in this film. With Michael Mando back, fans are waiting to see how the Spider-Man vs Scorpion fight will go down. Will Scorpion turn into a full blown villain? Will he have a high tech Scorpion suit? The questions will be answered in the film itself. The news that Tombstone and Punisher are also in the film is already getting fans hyped.
We will have to wait a little longer to see what Scorpion’s role will be in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ but Michael Mando being back after an 8 year wait is giving fans a lot to be excited about.
