The third installment of the Tron franchise, Tron: Ares, is out on October 10 and science fiction fans are eagerly waiting for it. So, the first reviews are in and with that the initial Rotten Tomatoes score is out.
As of now, Tron: Ares has a 60% on Rotten Tomatoes. That’s Fresh. But this score will change as more reviews come in. Looking at this initial score, it’s close to the scores of the previous two films. The original Tron (1982) got 61%, Tron: Legacy (2010) got 51%. Tron: Ares is in between.
Movie Background and Cast:
Directed by Joachim Rønning, Tron: Aerys is set after the events of Tron: Legacy. Jared Leto is the lead. He plays Aerys, a highly advanced program sent from the digital world to the real world on a dangerous mission. Along with Jared Leto, the film also stars Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hassan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Gillian Anderson and Jeff Bridges.
Critics’ Opinion:
Critics are mixed. According to Todd Gilchrist in a Screen Rant review, critics have problems with the narrative. “The script is confusing. Instead of exploring the parallels between the two worlds, it just jumps between the two worlds for fast paced action sequences,” he said.
